You CAN manifest while you sleep…3 stories of dreams that literally came true

Perhaps you have wondered: Is manifesting while you sleep really a “thing?”

Yep. It is. That’s why there are tons of bedtime meditations guiding you to imagine exactly what you want to manifest right before you close your eyes at night. 👀

(Manifest While You Sleep is my latest release on Insight Timer, and it’s a really juicy one for this!)

Still a skeptic, love? Here are two ways it works:

The Sliver of Light Effect ✨

Right before you drift off to sleep, there is an opening – like a sliver of light – when your subconscious mind is especially open to suggestions.

That's because when you're drowsy, it's harder for your conscious mind to resist or block new ideas. Since that kind of blocking is what keeps us from manifesting what we want, we're essentially removing a big, clunky roadblock to the life we desire.

We're also planting seeds of new beliefs in the fertile soil of our unconscious mind, which is like a gigantic field of pure potential and possibility.

And when it comes to manifesting love, it all comes down to rooting out our negative core beliefs about love ("I'm not enough," "I'm too much," "my needs don't matter") and instilling new, more life-affirming ones ("love comes to me easily, just like breathing," "my sacred partner is moving towards me even now," "I'm deeply worthy of mind-blowing, lasting love").

So yes, dear one. 🩷 You can manifest while you sleep – especially if you are consistent with this practice (try my new track every night for 10 days and test it out yourself!)

Here's another way that nighttime manifestation works…

The Dreaming Effect 💤

Dream premonitions are well-established throughout history (Lincoln's dreams predicted major victories for Union soldiers during the US Civil War, and several people had dream premonitions about the Aberfan Landslide in South Wales, UK, in 1966. Read both stories here).

Besides merely predicting the future, dreams can give you the breadcrumbs (ideas and clues) you need to follow in order to create the life you want.

Those messages are coming from your higher consciousness, which you are activating when you do a bedtime manifestation practice.

Or to take a more spiritual perspective, those messages are arriving directly from the realm of the Divine. ✨

In my own life, I’ve consistently had remarkably vivid dreams packed with spiritual insight and guidance – mostly after I've woken up in the middle of the night and gone back to sleep.

A Reiki healer once explained to me why that happens. She said that 3 or 4 AM is known as "the thinning of the veil," when the veil between the world's parts easily. So if you go back to sleep at this time, ancestor or spirit guides – or the Divine itself – may step in and choreograph your dreams to reveal vital bits of information you need in order to move forward on your path.

So if you struggle with nighttime wakings (as I do😟), try to see it as a gift the Divine may be giving you in the form of downloads and insightful dreams when you get back to sleep (try listening to Manifest While you Sleep the next time you wake up at that magical "thinning of the veils" hours).

If you are as captivated by the power of dreams as I am, here are 3 incredible stories of dream messages and premonitions that will make you a believer in nighttime manifestation!

1. Sarah Blondin's Nocturnal Inspiration. One night, Sarah Blondin, the mega-popular teacher on Insight Timer, had a dream about a dark house with room upon room filled with beautiful furniture covered in dust. The curtains blocked out all the light, while outside, a woman knelt at a stream. Sarah saw this as a metaphor for our own being – how we all have beautiful parts inside of us that get covered over, when all along our sacred self (the woman kneeling) is longing to be embraced. She took the threads of this dream and wove it into an audio course on Insight Timer called Coming Home to Yourself, which has to date enrolled 128,000 students from around the globe.

2. Sherri Smith’s Magic Writing Dreams. YA novelist Sherri Smith employs a writing technique she calls "Fruitful Dreaming." Just before she falls asleep, she asks a question about her writing, like: "What's going to happen in the family scene I'm working on?" One time, her nighttime dream unfolded several new chapters of the novel she was writing, and she wrote them down word for word when she woke up. Her editor was at first skeptical at this news and said those chapters would likely need heavy revision. But when the editor actually read them, she told Sherri: "Actually, these are perfect the way they are." Her dream did most of her writing work for her! (I heard Sherri tell this story during her talk at the 2021 SCBWI Summer conference).

3. My "Street Musician" Dream about Love. About eight months before I met Darrin, I had a vivid dream about a street musician. When I recall that dream, I can still hear the sound of a man's voice booming out from a street corner. Cradling a viola in the crook of his neck, he sang straight from the heart, joy vibrating with every note. He had a kindly face with laugh lines crinkling around his eyes, and he was perhaps 10 years older than me. When we spoke, I felt like I couldn't get the words out fast enough. On the outside we were different, but on the inside, we were like twin planets orbiting the same star. I was hungry for this man.

Later in the dream, I told a friend that marrying a man I had just met, my street musician, was like "leaping without a net, and yet it feels so safe." Only my higher mind could have come up with those words, capturing the exact sentiment I would eventually feel when I met Darrin the following winter.

When we did first meet at a coffee shop, the stories couldn't tumble out of our mouths fast enough (I blogged about that fated meeting last month. You can read it here). On the outside, we were different – he had 10 years on me, lifelines and laugh lines adorning his sweet face. But on the inside, our hearts orbited closer and closer together, holding the promise of a loving connection beyond anything we ever dreamt. After just five months, I moved to LA to live with him. We married within a year. 💍

Early in our love, Darrin sent me an audio message of him singing "Butterfly" 🦋 by Lenny Kravitz: "you are the most beautiful thing/I've ever seen/you shine just like sunlight rays on a winter snow I just had to tell you so." Darrin is an amazing singer and guitar player. When he was younger, he used to jam with friends on street corners. And the first time I sent him to a corner store for eggs, he later told me he had been singing his heart out the whole way there.

My dream several months earlier had assured me that this wonderful man was singing his way to me. All I had to do was sit tight, and do the healing work inside to get myself ready for him. 🤩

So here's your manifestation challenge, love!❤️

Listen to Manifest While You Sleep every night before bed for 10 days. And then…

  • Pay attention to your dreams. Are messages or insights coming through?

  • Notice your mood. Is there more of a perk in your smile the next day? Or a lilt in your step? If your mood is lifting, ask yourself: what am I believing right now about love and the possibility of sacred partnership in my life? If you find you are shifting your beliefs, you can bet that love is truly on the way!

  • During the day, are you noticing more opportunities to act on your desires? This is actually one way that manifestation works. When we are in that high vibrational place, we are more apt to notice the very opportunities that could bring us what we desire. It's like our brain and consciousness is keyed into it. So if you are noticing more opportunities for inspired action, go ahead and follow through, sweets! That could be your trail of breadcrumbs to the love you desire…

Can't wait to hear how this manifestation challenge goes for you! Post a comment below and share your experience with me!
